Here’s a quick view of how I styled my upcycled jacket yesterday. If you scroll to the bottom of the linked post you’ll see more pictures and details. This was it’s debut, however!
I’m having a little trouble uploading the pics, but you get the idea. I didn’t plan on going anywhere or changing out of my pajamas since I’m still recovering from all the traveling, including my trip over the New Year, but life called and I answered. It was definitely grab ‘n go; a hat works wonders when your hair is less than attractive. I’ve since washed my hair, cleaned up my house, and gotten a grip on what I need to do in the next few weeks. I feel better now.
I’m really feeling good about joining Patti again for Visible Monday and the Bon Bon Rose Girls for Monday Mingle. I don’t even have to change out of my pajamas.
Outfit details: Jacket, skirt, and underskirt-thrifted and upcycled, scarf-Goodwill, jewelry-my collection, boots and beret-old and can’t remember…(hmmm, Freudian slip?) Maybe it’s the AMS.

Those boots are wicked, girl!
And your scarf comes from my fave fashion destination. I feel ya on the whole washing your hair thing. I really need to get a cool hat
I love your beret and scarf…I could use a fun hat for the same reasons. You look super cool and no one would know. Good job!
Look at that little peep of beads on the underskirt … elegant! Love that jacket, and the scarf just sings your praises, Jean.
Oh yeah, a hat hides a multitude of sins on a less-than-perfect hair day!
Not that I can imagine you ever looking less than perfect, Jean! You are elegant and chic as always, love the soft colour of the jacket with the black, and those boots are fabulous. Good to know you are feeling ready to get on with what January has in store! xxxx
Hi Jean,
You’re looking so lovely! Crazy beautiful jacket! And yes, those boots!!!! FABULOUS!
What a lovely and unique scarf to find at GW.
Man…I definitely need to be wearing more hats because it’s rare that I “don’t” have a bad hair day. haha
Wow, ever beautiful! I love the flared sleeves, the asymmetries of your beret and scarf, and I basically throw myself at your hem and those incredible boooooots!!! SO much love to you, dear Jean! xo
You look gorgeous and serene as ever, Jean (loved your pics with Judith!). Those boots are WOW. Thanks for sharing the beauty with Visible Monday.
Beautiful color for you. And love your boots and scarf. Good idea for bad hair day…
A French beret is always tres chic. If I looked this good in a hat, Jean, I’d wear one every day!
Everyone loves the boots. Me, too!
Happy Tuesday.
Wow, now those are some pointy-toe boots! What a beautiful color jacket. I remember seeing it when you first did your magic on it, marvelous. And that scarf is incredible. You look very put together and comfortable too.
Grab ‘n go? This outfit could have been lifted off a mannequin at Holt Renfrew. Stunning use of colour Jean. You may be amused to know that I now often assess garments while thrifting with, ‘What would Jean do with this?’ I do look forward to seeing more of that underskirt.
Sue xo
You can’t help but look chic, I think. Love the bold scarf, and the rich color mix, and those wicked boots. Hope you computer issues get resolved soon- cuz I need to see that beautiful face with hi-res pixels!
The color is awesome on you!!! Love the whole outfit!!
The scarf is an amazing find and love how it frames your face. And then my gaze landed on the boots. They’re timeless and elegant; I can see why you’ve had them for years. You can make any outfit sing.
Hope that your AMS has left completely and sounds like you’re back to life after an incredible NYE celebration. It was grand!
Scarf, hat, boots, and then all your upcycled treasures, a guaranteed WINNER, Jean. It’s the mark of a true artist when your grab and go looks this together. Wow!
Ah Jean, I always look forward to your fabulous outfits. You look marvelous!
Love the black and white scarf with the beautiful purple! I’ve definitely found a new love for hats and bad hair days.
Love the baret! So french. I hope you are fully recovered. Have a peaceful Sunday!
Great scarf and hat! So chic.
Soooooooooooo classy and edgy, my dear friend

Oh yes, the joys of a hat to hide under. However, I simply don’t believe that you ever have a bad hair day!
Love the shot of the witchy-woman cuffs with the pointy boots. And are those points peaking out on the underskirt?
I’ve been going out with a hat because it’s so cold and then leaving it on when I’m indoors because of the dreaded ‘hat hair’ phenomenon.
