small things

Sometimes clothes speak louder than words.  Right about now they can do all the talking as far as I’m concerned; my voice is tired.

Most of my energy is focused on putting one foot in front of the other.

Comfort is key.  Boyfriend jeans, gladiator sandals, vintage tote, and upcycled sweater.  These pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago.  It’s been a whirlwind of work, travel, and family since then.  I’ve been off the grid and I miss you all!!  Consider this a place-holder until I get my groove back…in about a week I hope.

I’ll be coming around soon to say hello, I promise.  XXOO

Lovely to see you, Jean – been missing you too! It’s good to have a reliable, comfortable and essentially you sort of outfit for times when efforts are being concentrated elsewhere and energy is short. And this is an essential Jean look, cool and relaxed and beautiful and hippy chick and effortless! Gorgeous. Hope life slows down a little for you soon. xxxx

Aw shucks. You always make me feel good, Curtise. Thank you for your lovely energy. Love you.

It may be comfortable but you haven’t compromised on style! That bag is gorgeous and the jeans are a perfect fit.
Hope all’s well with you, my dearest Jean. xxxxxxxxxx

I get the “voice is tired” thing – been feeling like that myself lately, and not sure if I need to take a blogging break, or if it will pass. That bag is effing awesome.

    • Jean on May 19, 2014 at 4:52 pm

Yeah, I have to agree about the bag. I love the way it feels.

Life can get hectic sometimes, just too much on your plate, can’t focus on anything snd keep running around in circles…. I get that, too, when it gets busy at work. But you look lovely as you’re recuperating, and your clothes speak loud and clear.

    • Jean on May 19, 2014 at 4:56 pm

Thanks Tiina! I trust I’ll be able to blog a little more regularly soon. I hope to see you then!

I understand putting one foot in front of the other! It does mean that you’re moving forward, though it might not feel like it. The bag is amazing and if anyone can make casual glamorous, it’s you. I have missed you in blogland, but know that you will be back as life lightens.

    Thinking of you!

    • Jean on May 19, 2014 at 4:58 pm

We’re definitely due to catch up, right? Hope you haven’t had any more snow!!

Well, I think you look perfect Jean. Funny too, that bag is almost identical to one I nearly bought while shopping with Bella and Val on the weekend. It is one of the most beautiful bags I’ve seen but I couldn’t think of how to use it with all the holes in the leather workings. Looks like yours may be more tightly woven though. It’s just heavenly!

    • Jean on May 22, 2014 at 10:44 pm

If you put chunky things in it, i.e. a wallet or makeup bag, it works well. I’ve carried it a few times in lieu of a purse, and my keys and pen were an issue, obviously. I still love it though.

  14. Tamera the Menopausal Supermodel on May 23, 2014 at 3:13 pm

You look fabulous as always!! Take care of yourself!!

    • Jean on May 26, 2014 at 10:51 pm

  15. Suzanne on May 26, 2014 at 5:06 pm

That bag is insane! Hope you are feeling better soon : )

    • Jean on May 26, 2014 at 10:54 pm

Thanks Suzanne!! Hope all’s well in your world. Is it warm there yet? It’s been so hot here that I’ve been fantasizing about moving to Canada, which is what I do every summer…fantasize that is. :-)

  16. Feda on May 31, 2014 at 11:31 pm

You look absolutely stunning! I love this outfit!!!! A lot! This green is beautiful on you too. I feel you on being in a funk. It’s all part of the flow. Like you said one foot in front of the other. XOO

    • Jean on June 1, 2014 at 10:07 am

Thank you! I like this one too. The sweater upcycle was fun. I had some leather lace (on a spool) and used it to gather up the sides and tie the front. I want to do more of those.

  17. Trina on June 2, 2014 at 1:55 am

You make comfort very appealing and so chic. It’s always good to see your lovely self hope life slows down a bit for you or at least I hope you can enjoy the simple things that come your way.

    • Jean on June 2, 2014 at 9:33 pm

I’m taking deep breaths! I’m also getting ready to take a break from most technology for a few weeks. Hoping it will make it easier to smell the roses. :-)

Darling! Better a family and work whirlwind than a tornado! So glad you’re busy, but hope you can get some rest soon. You look so sweet and girly in your jeans …you and Patti and your olive! I tried on a silky olive blouse the other day and it sure doesn’t work for me like it does for you two! Oh well.
See you in just a minute on your 2nd Vis Mon post!
