Outfit Post Day 1

January 26, 2012

I managed to get a few shots this morning as I was heading out.  I’ve decided to make an effort to wear at least one thing I’ve made every day.  Today it’s two things.  The first is the long fishtail top.  It started out as a cardigan sweater with long panels in the front.  I turned it around backwards, sewed up the back and enlarged the front neckline so it wouldn’t choke me.  I also added inserts in the sleeves to make them extra long.

The other upcycled piece I made is the underskirt, visible when I sit down.  I took a half slip and sewed the bottom of a skirt onto the slip hem.  I love this piece because it gives me a layered look without a lot of bulk.

The striped dress is H&M and I have my beloved leather jacket on my shoulder.  I’m off and running!   Hope your day went well, too.

I’m so glad you directed us back to your first post. Now I can think of you as The Goddess of Stripes. Please tell me you’re tall. I’ve convinced myself I cannot find a striped maxi that looks good on me, due to being height-challenged…
