My Bags Are Packed

Time to hit the road again.  This time I’m going to shut off my computer for a bit in order to breathe and focus on each moment as it comes.  Of course, I’ll still be putting on my bracelets and fussing with shoes; some things will never change, hopefully.  I’ll probably peek at a few blogs, but in general I’m “going fishing”.  I’ll be back, though.

I haven’t decided it I’m going to take this outfit.  I upcycled the linen pants by adding the lace at the bottom and also at the drawstring for cohesion.  The best compliment I’ve gotten in awhile came from a six year old who told me, “You look like a rockstar!  Those are rockstar pants!”  I mean, how can you ignore that?  They really should be in my luggage right now.

I have to say that I detest packing.  I’m a mood dresser…I never know what I’m going to want in any given place and time.  I almost always get it wrong, too.  My vision doesn’t match up to the reality of where I’m going and what I’ll be doing, not that I care that much for “reality” dressing.  It’s so very subjective.  I just try to be comfortable and not embarrass people I love (at least not too much).

Take care of yourselves and wear something wonderful!  I can’t wait to check it all out when I get back.  XXOO

Details: Linen pants-upcycled by me, t-shirt-Forever 21 last summer, jewelry-thrifted and gifted, turquoise bag-on sale at consignment store, sandals-Kenneth Cole Reaction/outlet sale.

The necklace also came from a consignment store.  I’d seen it and decided that I really shouldn’t spend the money although I loved it.  Stopped by the next week and it was on sale, plus I got an additional discount.  I don’t know the materials, other than the sterling components, but it has weight and quality; I’m so happy it worked out.  I wear it constantly and know this is going with me, if nothing else.  Some decisions are easy.  Thank God.

Ha, I hate packing too, I am just like you – I want to decide what I wear on the day, and I find having to choose ahead of time tricky. But yes, you should definitely consider your Rock Star Pants for inclusion, they are fabulous! Love the drapey top, and the necklace is so you, it had to be yours!
Have fun on your travels, jean. You are so busy at the moment, Jean, there’s lots going on, and it’s quite right to focus on that. We’ll all be here waiting to hear all about it when you get back! xxx

    Happy travels!
I hate packing, too. I never know what I’m going to feel like wearing when I’m away, its virtually impossible to anticipate a mood!
Love the linen pants, the gorgeous jewellery and you! xxxxx

That is the best compliment ever, “rock star pants” from the mouths of babes!
I wish you safe travels and warm welcomes wherever you go. I’ll be emerging soon from a work bender so I’ll get a chance to catch up properly when you get your computer fired up again. Take care, Jean. Warm hugs from me xxoo.

Amazing pants, Jean! I hate packing too, for the same reasons. Have a lovely trip, wherever you’re off to. Xo

Everything is beautiful, Jean. Especially you. Yeah, you’ll just have to rock ‘n roll with it knowing whatever you have will look divine on you. Just because it does. I’ll be thinking of you and your Mom and Dad with good vibrations. Take care.

You will look like the rock star and I’ll be the farm queen. To each her persona.
    See you soon.
    love you!

I love what you did with the linen pants! But then you are always a “rock star” with your glamorous and creative ways.

Happy travels and enjoy breathing and living in the moment. Perhaps there will be a thrift store along the way to fill in the blanks that packing leaves open.

Rockstar pants and a meant-for-you necklace! With those essential decisions out of the way, how could you go wrong? Love you madly, I will be thinking of you & yours! xoxo

Just pack whatever makes you feel great right now, like the rock star trousers. As long as you have shoes that are good for walking, a jacket to keep you warm, and a necklace to make you feel stylish, you’re fine. If you need anything else, that’s what a credit card is for…. Have fun, catch a lot of “fish”!

I feel the same way about packing as you do – I can’t decide days ahead what I’m going to feel like wearing, so I end up packing way too much stuff. The Rockstar pants should definitely go with you. Wishing you safe travels, and we will see you when you return.

Have a lovely break! I’m sure whatever you pack will be better than what anyone around you is wearing.

I dream of a week in a cottage by the beach, and some rock star pants to wear.

Have a wonderful journey whoever you see and wherever you go! I love these rock star pants, especially the lace you added. I hate that being short means all these cute pants that are in right now are too long on me, not fair! You look beautiful as always, love that necklace too. Enjoy your time away!

I always pack too many clothes, never wear half of them yet somehow am missing a piece that I really need! How does that happen?

Have a great time, Lovely Jean! We’ll be here when you get back.

Loving the rock star pants and all the turquoise accents. You look so relaxed, but I bet that was put on for the camera! Thanks for articulating why I find packing so hard. It’s all about the mood with us artistic types! Hope you have a blast…and some rest. All the best!

Been thinking of you, gorgeous woman. Am going to take some time off- online, as well. BURNT OUT beyond measure. Enjoying some gardening, and gasp- read 2 books, the first reading since I’ve started blogging 6 years ago. Going to go on a media diet and unplug. Feels good so far. Love to you!
